Many HK listed companies did not engage their auditor to perform interim review in last year. Hence, the interim result is incorrect as those Financial Controller don't know or have little knowledge on the effect of new HKFRS. Hence, the annual result (e.g. retained earning) is different from their interim result. HKEx and HKICPA keep silent on this issue. You can try to write something on this to criticise the accounting knowledge and preparation of HK listed companies.
Re: Varitronix
After reading today's Apple Daily HK, reported that the Ko have good track record on loss-making business and sounds peculiar business txns, I started to worry if Mr. Choi could make a turnaround on Varitronix.
